Biographie
TRAINING: There's no typical day for me. Its just hard work as usual. I'm spread between training in Orlando and Coconut Creek. So I'm getting a lot of good work with my teammates. Most of us have fights so it’s really good work. I'm getting a lot of good work with JZ Calvalcante, Thiago Alves, Mike Brown, Yves Edwards, Steve Bruno, Paul Rodrigues, and Ben Saunders.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training in 1995. I was overloaded with energy and had no place to channel it. If it wasn't for the UFC, I may have been one hell of a criminal.
What ranks and titles have you held? I was the three-time World Extreme Fighting lightweight champion and the two-time Reality Superfighting lightweight champion.
Do you have any heroes? Fred Sanford, William Shakespeare, Johnny Depp, and Allen Iverson
What is your favorite technique? When I was younger I used to have favorite techniques. Now I treat every maneuver with the same level of respect. All of my weapons are my favorite.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? There are many shows budding because of the popularity of MMA in the United States. They should all thank the UFC. The UFC has revolutionized the United States MMA scene. To be a part of that is an honor.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I have an AA from Palm Beach Community College and I’m supposed to be enrolled at Florida Atlantic University...But I can never seem to make the registration deadline.
What was your job before you started fighting? I was a barber. In my prime, couldn't a man alive outfade me.
