Issei Tamura

TRAINING: Three times a week of MMA training in the morning along with my KRAZY BEE teammates. In addition, I train together with my coach and visit another gym for sparring.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started jiu-jitsu when I was 19 years old and started to have an interest in becoming an MMA fighter.

What ranks and titles have you held? Shooto Rookie of the Year & MVP in 2008.
Ranked fourth in the world in Shooto at 145 pounds.

Do you have any heroes? I do not have a hero, but I look up to Jake Shields and Akira Kikuchi, who is my former teammate.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s my dream come true.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? BS, in Physics

What was your job before you started fighting? Office worker (accounting)

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? Shooto - Amateur 155-pound tournament 2nd --- 2007
