TRAINING: A typical day of training consists of a session around 11am, usually strength and conditioning, then MMA at 3, then jiu-jitsu in the evenings.

When and why did you start training for fighting?   I started when I was 21, always loved the sport. I won my first fight 8 months later and decided to see how far I could take it. Now I fight for my wife and baby boy.

What ranks and titles have you held? Won a few local grappling tournaments, King of the Cage Canada Heavyweight Champion.

Do you have any heroes?   My parents for showing me the meaning of hard work. Everyone who helps me (or anyone in general) out of the kindness of their heart.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? When I began fighting it was the Ultimate goal; now that I'm getting my shot, I want to prove to everyone that I am an elite level fighter. I am 100% thankful for the opportunity. It really means the world to me.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I have a Bachelor of Arts from Augustana University/College, and an Elementary Education degree from the University of Alberta.
What was your job before you started fighting?   Kindergarten Teacher
