BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Anchor Bay Entertainment and the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) announced the extension of their current distribution agreement adding several more years as well as expanding the brand to include the extremely popular U.S. version of the reality TV series, The Ultimate Fighter® under the ABE umbrella. The company currently distributes UFC® on Blu-ray™ and DVD formats throughout North America. The joint announcement was made by Anchor Bay Entertainment President Bill Clark and UFC President Dana White.
“We’ve had tremendous success over the past few years with the UFC line,” commented Clark. “The DVDs are consistently strong sellers and we have a terrific working relationship with the UFC. We look forward to this expansion of the UFC brand and the success it brings to both companies.”
“We are looking forward to giving fans more of the most exciting live events in the world on Blu-ray and DVD,” said Don Gold, Executive Vice President of Entertainment for UFC. “The expansion of this partnership will allow us to give fans more exclusive content including bonus materials and behind-the-scenes footage.”
Anchor Bay Entertainment has distributed UFC events on both Blu-ray and DVD since 2009. The first release was UFC 100 which featured hours of content including the main event matchup, feature fights and preliminary bouts. All the releases include behind-the-scene moments, weigh-in events and other footage that take the viewer outside the Octagon™.
