Ferguson Puts Streak on Line against Thomson in July

Fighting in his Southern California backyard for the second straight time, lightweight contender Tony Ferguson will put his five-fight winning streak on the line against the ninth-ranked 155-pounder in the world, Josh "The Punk" Thomson, in UFC Fight Night action on July 15 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.

Ferguson, a former Ultimate Fighter winner, is coming off a first-round Performance of the Night submission of Gleison Tibau at UFC 184 in Los Angeles on February 28. Former Strikeforce champion Thomson will travel down the coast from the Bay Area for this pivotal matchup with the 13th-ranked "El Cucuy."
