Marlon Moraes makes UFC debut in June against Assuncao

Highly-regarded former World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes will get a home game in his UFC debut, as he faces No. 3-ranked contender Raphael Assuncao at UFC 212 on Jun. 3

Also made official for the UFC 212 event is a strawweight matchup between Viviane Pereira and Jamie Moyle.

In the main event of UFC 212, which airs live on Pay-Per-View from Jeunesse Arena, Jose Aldo meets Max Holloway for the undisputed UFC featherweight championship.

A native of Nova Friburgo who has become a familiar name to UFC fans for his work with current Octagon stars Frankie Edgar, Edson Barboza and Eddie Alvarez, Moraes dominated in the WSOF promotion, going 11-0 with seven finishes while successfully defending his 135-pound crown five times. Unbeaten since 2011, the 28-year-old now begins his quest for a UFC title against fellow Brazilian Assuncao, who has won eight of his last nine, most recently defeating Aljamain Sterling in January. Add in that Assuncao has never lost in Brazil, and the stage is set for an epic showdown.
