Mark Munoz Signs New 4-fight Deal

It's been a run of bad luck for the "Filipino Wrecking Machine" Mark Munoz of late. After a disappointing loss to Gegard Mousasi at Fight Night Berlin, Munoz learned he'd suffered a grade 3 MCL tear and a strained ACL in the fight, which will require a significant rehab stint before he's back in the Octagon.

But on Thursday afternoon, things may have started to turn around for Munoz, who announced via Instagram that he inked a new 4-fight deal with the UFC.

At 36 years old, Munoz, who has amassed a 13-5 record in his mixed martial arts career, will look to make one more run at the title in the middleweight division once he is able to compete again.

After his loss to Mousasi, Munoz said that what's next for him is to pick up the pieces and keep going.

"It was a tough loss. But I think it doesn't matter how many times you fall, but it's about how many times you pick yourself back up after a loss or a failure," Munoz said. "That's what I'll do."
