My Favorite Fight: Claudio Rodriguez on Cain vs. Brock

Claudio Rodriguez, music anchor for Mexico's Telehit station and a UFC cageside commentator, talks about his favorite fight.
My favorite UFC fight is definitely UFC 121 Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez. I was calling that fight, and for many, Lesnar was the favorite because of his size, even though it was obvious that Cain was more well-rounded.

I was with Mario Delgado and Hugh McCarthy. I remember we were so excited during the action that we all stood up and were jumping up and down in front of our chairs while we were calling the fight. The fact that we got to know Cain personally before the fight added some magic to the moment.

The fight that put UFC on the map
That event was broadcast on Televisa Deportes Network, a national network. After this fight, many people here in Mexico started to get familiar with the UFC. People would stop me on the street to talk the about fight and tell me how thrilled they were. It was very special to me.

A new Mexican star
Shortly after that victory, Cain went to Mexico for the Premios TeleHit, a music awards ceremony held on the Acapulco beach. We were paired up to present an award, so I had a chance to talk to him... and I was calmer too! I realized that Cain is so cool, such a humble person with good vibes.
